Reduce reuse recycle

Did you know….on average, each person in the UK throws away their own body weight in rubbish every seven weeks. It’s estimated that 80% of our dustbins contents could be recycled or composted! While recycling is good, we as a church, a community of Gods children need to be thinking what more we can do to look after the planet God has made for us. Take a look at Genesis 2:15, Deuteronomy 11:12 and many other verses. At a simple level, we should seek to reduce and reuse and, where we do generate waste, ensure as much of it is recyclable and recycled as possible. To start with, we’ve placed recycling bins in the church hall. They’re clearly labelled but ask  if you’re not sure which bin to use. We’ll be exploring reducing waste and recycling “unrecyclable” plastics soon along with other initiatives.

And a quick mention our very own Waste Not shop in the village.  They sell all sorts of loose products like flour, salt, nuts, spices, cleaning products and loads more.  Take your own container and not only will you reduce plastic waste but more than likely save yourself money at the same time!
